February 14, 2007 - Joint Venture today announced that the Cities of Palo Alto and San Carlos have signed agreements with Silicon Valley Metro Connect to become the first Concept City sites for the Joint Venture Wireless Silicon Valley broadband network. Areas the size of one square mile in each city will be used to test wireless equipment and demonstrate applications. The tests are expected to last about 120 days. The Joint Venture Wireless Silicon Valley task force also announced that it is forming users groups for Intelligent Transportation Systems and Emergency Response.
