Silicon Valley Institute
for Regional Studies

Joint Venture is launching a new institute providing a stream of data and reports, significantly boosting the analytical output of the organization. To be housed within Joint Venture, the think tank is to be called—for now—the Silicon Valley Institute for Regional Studies.

Joint Venture’s co-chairs, San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed and Accenture’s Chris DiGiorgio, announced the Institute at the State of the Valley conference, at the same time they announced an overall expansion campaign for Joint Venture. The search for the Institute’s inaugural director commences immediately, and the Institute is expected to be up and running by mid-year.

“Data and analysis about Silicon Valley as a region is in surprisingly short supply,” explained Joint Venture CEO Russell Hancock. “Our new Institute will address a critical need, leverage our relationship with the region’s universities, and build on our flagship product, the Silicon Valley Index.”
