Energy Storage Symposia

Some History...

The Silicon Valley Energy Storage Symposium was intended to showcase and monitor progress and new developments of the Storage industry. We featured speakers who brought us the national perspective on energy storage as well as experts on what’s going on in California. Then, we drilled down to the regional level and examined local pilot projects and initiatives that are moving the energy storage industry forward.

The event was intended to bring together Silicon Valley’s cleantech community – not just energy storage experts – to discuss what’s happening in energy storage on the federal, state, and local levels, and how we could help support the local energy storage industry. Attendees came from all areas of cleantech (energy storage, solar, wind, etc.) and others interested in energy storage (e.g., public and private sector facilities managers), as well as researchers, VCs, and students.

Symposia were planned through Joint Venture's Climate Prosperity initiative, which aims to reduce our use of fossil fuels while accelerating the emergence of a cleantech sector in Silicon Valley. The topic of energy storage fits within all four of the Climate Prosperity focus areas (clean transportation, building efficiency, renewable energy, and green infrastructure).
