2026 Silicon Valley Poll Results:
The Silicon Valley Poll is a public opinion survey fielded in August of each year by Joint Venture’s Institute for Regional Studies. Carried out in partnership with the Mercury News and Bay Area News Group, the Poll tracks residents’ feelings about the direction of the region and their stance on a range of timely and topical policy issues.
The October 7 event featured a briefing on the results by Joint Venture CEO Russell Hancock, who also serves as president of the Institute. Hancock was joined on the stage by three subject-matter experts and on-the-ground practitioners including Hans Johnson (Public Policy Institute of California), John Ifcher (Santa Clara University), and Irina Raicu (Santa Clara University).
The public briefing was attended by members of the community and cross-sector thought leaders from business, government, nonprofits, and academia.
