If you missed the 2023 Poll Briefing, you can watch it below, or on our YouTube channel.

This video was created by high school students Morgan Ramos and Dominic Mairena from MetroEd, a career-oriented education organization in Santa Clara County for high school & adult students. Lindsey Wong from Santa Clara County Office of Education served as Film and Video mentor. The Joint Venture staff is excited for the opportunity to work with local high school students in our community. We appreciate the hard work and dedication that went into the creation of this video.

The 2023 Silicon Valley Poll was made possible by generous support from lead sponsor Kaiser Permanente and host Evergreen Valley College.

The Silicon Valley Poll is an extensive public opinion survey placed in the field annually by Joint Venture’s research arm, the Silicon Valley Institute for Regional Studies, and Change Research. It is carried out in partnership with The Mercury News and Bay Area News Group, and has become one of the region’s most closely-watched surveys.

The October 4 event featured a thorough briefing on the 2023 results by Joint Venture CEO Russell Hancock, who also serves as president of the Institute.

Among other things, the 2023 Poll probed residents for their thoughts and feelings about three subjects in depth: our struggling downtowns, public transit, and the continuing heartbreak of homelessness. A panel of distinguished experts and practitioners grappled with the findings.

The Briefing was attended by members of the community and the leaders of every major sector.
