Climate-Safe California
The Climate Center is a nonprofit working across the state of California to reduce greenhouse gases at scale. At Joint Venture, The Climate Center initiative will launch under Climate-Safe California. The initiative provides a comprehensive platform to bring California’s climate targets and policies into alignment with current science.
The organization has played a pivotal role in California’s transition to community choice agencies for electric power distribution, which increased from two agencies in 2014 to 21 agencies today.

Climate Task Force
Formed in 2007, the Joint Venture Public Sector Climate Task Force includes representatives from every city, town and county in Silicon Valley, plus several special districts and other public agencies. The group also includes advisory members from local organizations working on sustainability and energy conservation and several affiliate members from for-profit companies in relevant sectors.
The goal of the Task Force is to develop effective collaborative solutions for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from public agency operations and to provide a neutral forum for city and county government agencies and special districts to learn from each other and from others about climate protection programs.
