Outreach Fellow

Manpreet Chandok headshot Manpreet Chandok is a fellow serving with the food recovery initiative. Chandok is a senior at San Jose State University and will graduate in 2022 with a bachelor of science in environmental studies and a minor in sustainable energy. She previously worked as a zero-waste captain for Live Nation Shoreline Amphitheatre where she helped promote and facilitate sustainable waste management practices at the venue during and after concerts. She served as an intern for the City of Cupertino with the Environment and Sustainability division. There, she worked on a field project surveying the use, distribution, and sale of plastic grocery bags, single-use food service-ware products, and polystyrene food service-ware products.

Chandok, who grew up in Santa Clara, is passionate about the environment and sustainability, and specifically environmental justice. Ultimately, her goal is to be able to help people and communities of color have equal and equitable access to a clean environment, give them more power, and work to reduce environmental racism. Her dream is to have an urban farm that will distribute free produce to any people who are homeless, formerly incarcerated, or impoverished. In her free time, she likes to cook and paint.
