Joint Venture board adds Fremont City Manager Mark Danaj

Mark Danaj headshotNovember 16, 2018 – The Joint Venture board of directors has elected Fremont city manager Mark Danaj as its newest member. He succeeds former Fremont City manager Fred Diaz on the board. 

Danaj was named Fremont’s eighth city manager in July after four years as the city manager of Manhattan Beach. Previously he served as Fremont’s assistant city manager and chief operating officer from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, he was director of human resources for the city of San Jose for eight years.

Danaj earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from Marquette University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business. He also graduated from the Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executives in State and Local Government program.
