June 14, 2019 – The Joint Venture Silicon Valley board of directors today elected two new members at their quarterly meeting at Facebook in Menlo Park: Supervisor Susan Ellenberg, Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, District 4 and Michael Isip, President and Chief Executive Officer of KQED Public Media.

Supervisor Susan Ellenberg was sworn into office to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors in 2019. As the representative for District 4, she serves as the Chair of the Public Safety and Justice Committee, Vice Chair of the Health and Hospitals Committee, and on the First Five Commission. Prior to election to the Board of Supervisors, Ellenberg served on the San Jose Unified School District Board of Trustees. Supervisor Ellenberg was born in Pittsburgh, PA and is a graduate of Barnard College and Columbia University School of Law. She has worked as a real estate and land use attorney and as a social justice educator.
With nearly 25 years of media experience, Michael Isip was named President & CEO of KQED in April 2019. Isip joined KQED in 2001 as an Executive Producer in Television and has since served as Senior Vice President & Chief Content Officer and as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. He previously was Executive Producer at KVIE Public Television in Sacramento and started his career at WLS-TV in Chicago. Michael is on the board of directors of Public Radio International, Public Radio Exchange (PRI/PRX), and American Documentary Inc. Michael has a B.A. from Cornell University and a J.D. from DePaul College of Law.
