Mark G. Parnes, General Counsel, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and David Sacarelos, Partner at Seiler, LLP
September 20, 2019 – The Joint Venture Silicon Valley board of directors today elected two new board members at its quarterly meeting held at the Sobrato Foundation in Redwood City. New board members include Mark G. Parnes, General Counsel with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (WSGR) and David Sacarelos, partner at Seiler LLP.
Mark Parnes is general counsel of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati where he handles risk-management, ethical matters, and helps manage the firm’s pro bono program. He also supports the board of the WSGR Foundation, the WSGR Community Service Committee, and the firm’s sustainability efforts. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law.
Parnes represents a variety of nonprofits, including: Adolescent Counseling Services; Child Advocates; Fresh Lifelines for Youth; METTA Center for Nonviolence Education; New Teacher Center; Raising a Reader; Reading Partners; Silicon Valley Children's Fund; Sustainable Conservation; and Opportunity Fund.
David Sacarelos is a tax partner with over 30 years of experience working with domestic and foreign companies and nonprofit organizations. He oversees business development, marketing, and the coordination of cross-border engagements. He holds a master's degree from Golden Gate University and a bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University.
Sacarelos is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a director of the San Francisco Estate Planning Council and a trustee at Montalvo Arts Center. He is a member of the tax advisory board at San Jose State University and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Planning Council.
