Joint Venture Board adds Kelly Kline

June 10, 2022 – The Joint Venture Silicon Valley board of directors today unanimously elected to its ranks Kelly Kline, Associate Vice President of Local Government Affairs at Stanford University.

Kline has worked in Silicon Valley government for 30 years, focusing much of her career on public/private partnerships, urban revitalization, and strengthening key business growth sectors including life sciences, and clean technology.

At Stanford, Kline works with the Local Government Team focusing on partnerships with decision makers to address complex civic challenges. 

Kline most recently served as Chief Economic Development and Land Use Officer for Mayor Sam Liccardo for four years and as Chief Innovation Officer for the City of Fremont for over six years. She also served as Cupertino’s first economic development and redevelopment manager, steering the city’s business growth efforts during Apple’s unprecedented expansion at Apple Park.  

She holds a BA in journalism and an MPA from San José State.

Kline is filling a seat vacated by Jean McCown following her retirement from Stanford.
