Tenanes will serve as co-chair
September 9, 2022 – The Joint Venture Silicon Valley board of directors elected John Tenanes to its body at their quarterly meeting on September 9. Tenanes, vice president of global facilities and real estate at Meta (formerly Facebook), succeeds Dave Wehner as co-chair of the board. Wehner is the former CFO of Meta and has taken on the role of Chief Strategy Officer at the company.
Tenanes leads a team responsible for Meta’s physical workplace footprint for their Bay Area headquarters and facilities across multiple continents. Tenanes started at Facebook in 2010 after a career in architecture and design, including stints at Gensler and Sun, where he worked on workplace buildouts for Silicon Valley firms such as IBM and Hewlett Packard. A 1979 Wentworth Institute of Technology graduate in architecture, Tenanes was Meta’s point person for the company’s return to the office on the heels of the coronavirus pandemic.
“I look forward to joining the board and continuing the work to help address some of the most pressing economic and societal issues facing the Silicon Valley,” said Tenanes.
Russell Hancock, CEO of Joint Venture, lauded the selection. "Dave Wehner gave remarkably to our board, and in his final act of service he helped us recruit another Meta superstar to take the reins,” he noted. “John Tenanes brings an amazing array of on-the-ground experience in the Bay Area getting things done, and he will bring that same instrumentality to Joint Venture.”
