Chris Martin of UPS, Stacy McAfee of University of Phoenix

San Jose, Calif. – November 22, 2010 – The board of directors of Joint Venture: Silicon Valley Network has elected two new members, Chris Martin, President of the North California District for UPS, and Stacy McAfee, Vice President and Director of the Bay Area Campus of University of Phoenix.

Martin is responsible for more than 11,500 employees and oversees the company’s day-to-day business in northern California and northern Nevada. McAfee directs enrollment, financial services, advising, student services and operations for six regional learning centers.

“Our board is fortunate to gain two accomplished women executives from the private sector,” said Joint Venture President and CEO Russell Hancock. “They bring important perspectives from the logistics and education sectors to our work.”

Martin has been with UPS since 1977, starting as a part-time feeder clerk in New England. She has previously been president of the company’s Alabama, Sacramento Valley and East Bay Districts.

McAfee came to her present role in 2009 with more than twelve years of experience in higher education. Most recently, she served as Regional Director of Academic Affairs for University of Phoenix Western Region.
