SAN JOSE, Calif. | April 1, 2008 – Joint Venture: Silicon Valley Network today named longtime Silicon Valley corporate communications executive, public relations consultant and journalist Duffy Jennings to the newly created position of vice president of communications.
“Duffy brings a vast body of work, strong credentials and executive-level experience to this vital role for our organization,” said Russell Hancock, president and CEO of Joint Venture, a broad-based public benefit organization that brings together local government, business, academia, workforce and community organizations to identify and tackle important regional issues.
Hancock said Jennings will collaborate with his staff and affiliated organizations to develop and execute the strategic communications plan for Joint Venture initiatives, executive communications, media relations, publications and online communications.
Jennings has been the principal of his own consulting firm in Silicon Valley since 1993. He previously held senior corporate communications positions with The Enterprise Network of Silicon Valley, online retailer Fogdog.com and the San Francisco Giants. He is also a former prize-winning reporter, editor and City Hall bureau chief for the San Francisco Chronicle. A native San Franciscan, Jennings majored in journalism at San Francisco State University.
