San Jose, CA — Darren Deffner, Senior Government Affairs Representative at Pacific Gas & Electric Company, has been elected to the board of Joint Venture: Silicon Valley Network. Joint Venture President and CEO Russell Hancock made the announcement.
“Darren is a community leader with a broad range of experience, and we’re particularly pleased to tap his expertise on the nexus between energy and environment,” said Hancock. “He’ll be a strong champion for climate protection task force, among other things.”
“We’re also delighted,” continued Hancock, “that Darren’s appointment shows PG&E’s long-term commitment to the Joint Venture model for regional stewardship.”
Mr. Deffner is responsible for developing community partnerships and implementing programs in Silicon Valley that enhance PG&E’s commitment to environmental stewardship, energy assistance, education, economic development, and emergency preparation. Within PG&E, Mr. Deffner is responsible for helping develop innovative environmental programs to assist communities with their sustainability goals.
Prior to joining PG&E Mr. Deffner served in city government, and on the policy staff of Congresswomen Anna Eshoo. He serves on the Environmental Advisory Board of the Santa Clara Valley Water District, as well as on the board of the Silicon Valley Environmental Partnership.
