Joint Venture, in partnership with the County of San Mateo, has deployed a high-speed broadband network to serve East Palo Alto parks. It's been amazing to work with Joint Venture.” said Jerry Chang, FUSE executive advisor with the City of East Palo Alto. “Covid-19, coupled with remote work and education, has highlighted our need for connectivity.” said East Palo Alto Mayor Regina Wallace-Jones. |

Unprecedented election turnout |
 |
Eligible voter turnout for the November third election came in at an unprecedented 71 percent, compared to 62 percent in 2016, according to Joint Venture’s Institute for Regional Studies. “We haven’t seen a turnout like this in at least 50 years, if ever,” said Institute Director of Research, Rachel Massaro. Absentee voting rates were higher than ever before, due in large part to the pandemic. Ninety-two percent of ballots cast in San Mateo County were sent by mail, dropped off at a ballot box, or hand-delivered to a polling location. Seventy-four percent of Silicon Valley voters cast ballots for Joe Biden – the same as for Hillary Clinton in 2016. |
