Data Release: Unemployment (October 2021)October 22, 2021 – Silicon Valley’s latest unemployment rate for September is down to 3.9% — the first time the unemployment rate has dropped below four percent since the start of the pandemic, according to analysis by Joint Venture ’s Institute for Regional Studies. August to September 2021 represented a drop of 0.8 percentage points, or from 4.7% to 3.9%. The unemployment rate in Silicon Valley in September was two percentage points lower than it was at the end of 2020.
