October 2, 2026 – Concern about the Valley’s future is growing: 60% of residents say the region is on the wrong track, 90% call housing and the cost of living “serious problems,” and almost half struggle to cover monthly expenses, according to the 2026 Silicon Valley Poll.
The Silicon Valley Institute for Regional Studies is the research arm of Joint Venture Silicon Valley, and is housed within the organization. Research topics focus on economic and community health issues within Silicon Valley and the greater Bay Area, as well as on broader regional issues.
