Meet the Joint Venture Team
Project Manager, Bridge to Recovery
Rob George joined Joint Venture Silicon Valley in April 2021 as project manager on the Bridge to Recovery initiative. He has over 35 years of experience as a business leader, including experience running large and small retail grocery, specialty coffee, consumer electronics, and restaurant sectors.
Rob employs a "people first" leadership style and in 2019 he pivoted his career to the public sector taking a position as a Senior Manager-Special Projects for the City of Palo Alto. He worked on various projects in the City Manager’s Office and Human Resources focusing on business recovery and outreach efforts for the City.
Rob has been an active volunteer for more than 10 years, serving on three nonprofit boards. He served as one of the founding members and chair of the Palo Alto Transportation Management Association (PATMA). PATMA provides no-cost transit passes to low-income workers. He is now an ex-officio member on that board. Rob serves as board member and treasurer of Project Safety Net whose mission is to end youth suicide. He also serves as a board member of La Comida de Palo Alto, an organization that focuses on senior nutrition and hunger.
Rob is a graduate of Santa Clara University and a proud former attendee of Alum Rock Union and Eastside Union public schools in San Jose.
