Meet the Joint Venture Team
Susan Miller-Davis
Associate Director, Silicon Valley Food Recovery
Susan Miller-Davis is associate director of Joint Venture’s Food Recovery Initiative.
She most recently ran Infinite Table, a consultancy supporting businesses, public sector organizations, nonprofits, and community groups to build resilient economies, create regenerative food systems, fight food waste and tackle climate change.
Miller-Davis co-authored a 2017 report assessing food waste reduction strategies in Alameda County. She recently completed a research fellowship at Project Drawdown, updating the organization’s research and modeling related to two of the largest climate solutions: reduced food waste and plant-rich diets.
Previously, she worked at Common Future (formerly BALLE), Deloitte, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the World Bank, and the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union. She serves on the advisory board of Zero Foodprint (ZFP), a nonprofit organization mobilizing the food industry around agricultural climate solutions. She has also served on the board of the Berkeley Food Network, the advisory team to the James Beard Foundation Full Use Kitchen initiative, and the Zero Food Waste Committee of the Northern California Recycling Association.
In her spare time, Miller-Davis is working on a forthcoming climate-friendly cookbook, serves as a volunteer with Citizen’s Climate Lobby, and enjoys downtime with her husband and two sons.
Miller-Davis holds an MPA in Economics and Public Policy from Princeton University, a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, and certificates in Food Studies from University of the Pacific.
