Affiliated Researcher, Survey Research, Silicon Valley Institute for Regional Studies
Trenton Marlar joined the Institute as an Affiliated Researcher in 2023 to lead survey research for the annual Silicon Valley Poll and other relevant projects.
He is currently an Analyst with Embold Research, the nonpartisan, non-political unit of Change Research – a Bay Area-based polling firm. He has over six years of survey research experience and as a trained political scientist, he has leveraged survey data to explain the political attitudes and behaviors of individuals living in numerous countries around the world.
Trenton’s focus includes survey questionnaire design, data visualization, and statistical analysis. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Colorado Boulder where he researched the effects of economic inequality on citizens’ evaluations of democracy. He also holds a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and a bachelor's degree from Oregon State University.
