SAN JOSE, Calif. | November 12, 2008 – Joint Venture: Silicon Valley Network today named economic development and workforce research expert Josh Williams as director of the organization’s new regional workforce initiative.
Williams, co-founder, president and principal researcher of San Diego-based BW Research, will head the project to develop and test new regional approaches to meet the workforce needs of Silicon Valley’s rapidly changing economy. His previous work includes projects for San Jose State University, the city of San Jose, and work2future.
“Josh brings valuable experience, exceptional research and analytical skills, and a deep knowledge of workforce issues to this project,” said Russell Hancock, president and CEO of Joint Venture. “I’m satisfied he will be able to work effectively with our regional partners.”
Joint Venture has been selected by the North Valley Workforce Board (NOVA), work2future, and the San Mateo County Workforce Investment Board to recommend a coherent regional workforce investment strategy and to identify the initial steps toward its implementation.
